Born 1962, Dr. rer. Pol.; Diplom-Kaufmann. From 1982 till 1985 training as banker. From 1985-1991, studies of management and business administration at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, University of Cologne. From 1992-2004 assistant at the research institute for social policy and the seminar for co-operative studies at university of cologne. Since 2009 lecturer at seminar for co-operative studies at university of cologne. Since 2005, CEO of DNI Beteiligungen AG. Since 2013 CEO of Horus AG. Since 2015 CEO of Smart Equity AG.

In the project Integrierte Sozialraumbildung und nachhaltige Sozialraumentwicklung in der Lausitz (INSOLA) (FKZ 03WIR6511B) - (engl.: Integrated Social Space Creation and Sustainable Social Space Development in the Lausitz region (INSOLA) - funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, he is working - in the Lausitz region, particularly in the district of Görlitz - on a participatory analysis of the social space in order to systematically record social needs and thus further develop the social infrastructure in a targeted and sustainable manner. The aim is to create a resilient region through networking, civic engagement and social innovation, in which local stakeholders work together to create sustainable solutions.

Current research focus: Relationship of co-operative science and practice; Programmatic and contextual enhancement of application-oriented and knowledge-pluralistic managerial economics (management science?) for co-operatives; Co-operative management- and business ethics; Success evaluation of co-operative banks; success factors for co-operative start-ups (new foundations); Potentials and constraints for co-operative entrepreneurship; morphology and typology of co-operative business models.
